before a fall….or in this case before I spent 3 days trying to figure out what in the heck I was doing because it sure as frack wasn’t reading the chart (you know, from the pattern I thought was pretty easy).
One of my sweet friends suggested that maybe there was an error with the pattern. Sure, an error where the ninth time you read a chart, suddenly, there’s an error? Yea, that’s probably it.
By the time I quit diagnosing, picking up stitches, dropping stitches, picking up different stitches, being unappy with how the lace looked and sucked it up and unknit all the way back (6 rows) to the spot where I lost all reason, several days had passed. This is the point where I told myself that I’m 50% process knitter and unknitting is sort of the same as knitting. I think we all know it’s not.
I was finally able to finish the first sock and am working on the second one….and you can bet your sweet arse I’m paying attention to the chart.

Your socks look great and are totally worth all they are putting you through:)
Hmmm… I wonder what could be going wrong. I’m sure you’re going to have an “AH HA!” moment now that you’ve been forced to rip thing back. The good news is, they look lovely! That purple is gorgeous.
I’m impressed that you unknit all those rows though. You showed it who’s boss.
o_O that is a lot of unknitting. The complete sock is beautiful though!
Well that’s all apart of it. The seeming to move along smoothly then the oops ! They are lovely in any case and I love the color. Thanks for stopping by my blog !
Beautiful color. You know you would never have been happy with them wrong.
Hang in there, I just spent this morning tearing out 6 rows of lace knitting on my Meris cardigan. This is what I learned: don’t do lace knitting at night!
Your first sock looks fine and it looks like a great color.
Oh that is rough. I feel your pain, you know I do. In a side note, I love you for your use of the word frak. Back to the topic, those socks look great!
