I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.
Vanessa antiopa Socks by Hunter Hammersen

I delivered the Rainbow Vanessa Socks to Turtle and was happy to spend some quality time with her clan.

Knit socks also make great hats.

I also had a lovely time playing Marco Polo in the pool with my brother and nephews and niece. The gray socks fit my niece; I was so pleased to find them a home with someone I love enough to give hand knit socks to….and it healed my heart to have them go to someone that knows and loves my dad (the intended recipient).

The niece may have a future in sock modeling.

First, US women’s shoe sizes are BS. When I make socks for the dimensions I find online, they don’t seem to fit the matching live feet. This time, I decided to find someone with similar sized feet to the giftee and then talk them into trying on the first sock. Thankfully, even though this sock fit me (size 7.5 shoe), the yarn is just stretchy because my size 6 friend declared them a perfect fit.

Second, while Meghan was admiring the sock, she noticed that maybe I hadn’t woven in the end? but there was very little tail left? Sons of biscuits! I thought I’d done my usual method of knitting in the tail and for some reason I did not and I snipped the cast on tail off way way way too short. So, I carefully wove a bit of yarn through the cast on, tied a discreet knot and will weave in the longer tail…..tomorrow.

1. RIPD (rest in peace department) was quite a bit better than I expected. Granted, I wasn’t expecting much given the lame title, but it did entertain me.

2. Ryan Reynolds pulled off the unshaven look really well. He’s kind of clean and pretty, so I wasn’t sure it was going to work, but it did.

3. This movie struck me as a cross between Ghost and Ghostbusters. I liked both of those movies and when this comes out on DVD, I’ll be watching it again.

4. Kevin Bacon made a really good bad guy and Jeff Bridges was quite a bit less annoying than he could have been.

5. Mary-Louise Parker was rocking the go-go boots.

6. If you liked Men in Black 3, I think you’d like RIPD.

7. There weren’t really any knits to speak of, so here’s my current project.
