I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Mostly I tell stories about knitting.

TH and I went to a show Tuesday night. I sat between TH and a very nice gentleman. When I returned from my last minute ladies room trip prior to the show, the gentleman informed me that a blonde had been in my seat while I was gone. I let him know that if he’d said redhead, I’d have believed him!
The show was filled with lots of wonderful people:

  • arielist couple – they were amazing!
  • singing couple (and their small pregnant friend – the best I could tell, she was just hovering around to distract us in case we were getting bored).
  • Indian dancer – lovely!
  • African dancer – this looked like a great workout!
  • Chinese dancing dog thingies made up of two people each.
  • two couples on giant trampolines who also ran/walked up walls.
  • a contortionist juggler guy – I imagine his mother told him, “you cannot get a job juggling when you grow up!”. turns out you can!
  • a VERY talented balancing contortionist lady and some other contortionist ladies.
  • several comedians who communicated by tone (mostly speaking another language), hand gestures, and facial expressions – I bet they play killer charades!
  • a bunch of guy acrobats that did flips through rings and jumped rope while doing flips, etc. – this was really cool. They even jumped rope as a pyramid! I really felt like I should go home and work on my jump roping since I have a hard time with it normally these days, and certainly can no longer do double dutch, much less while doing handsprings! great stuff!
  • a very talented orchestra!

Overall, this show was a lot of fun and didn’t last so long that you were tired of it!

And in closing, here’s a pic of the green sweater I wore today. It is acrylic (will last forever) and I got it at Goodwill (great bargain)…. win-win! I hope you are having a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!

I never finished my series of blogs about the squares from the Neopolitan blanket, so here’s another one….
The flower square is a modified version of a square from Itty Bitty Nursery by Susan B. Anderson. I went with two flowers instead of one.

Random monkey thoughts:

  • Finished a sock a couple of days ago and now I’m working on its mate.
  • Really like this yarn (Crock-o-Dye’s Skyway) and the pattern (Cookie A’s Monkey).
  • The flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz inspired me to make the monkey socks with blue yarn.
  • Monkey socks should not be confused with sock monkeys. This has come up more than once in recent discussion.
  • The rest of the ball reminds me of a cupcake.
  • German twisted cast-on over two needles is my favorite sock cast-on.
