You may recall that I was suffering a crisis of indecision recently. I was embarking on the Chrysanthemum Frutescens socks by Hunter Hammersen and had to pick a yarn color. Everyone’s socks I’d seen so far were AMAZING!…but I didn’t want to make light colored socks which would be the sensible thing to do when trying to show off lace. I wanted BOLD socks. I was leaning red or maybe purple. So, I started asking people…and so it was that I asked a good friend of mine his opinion. He loyally reads my blog and is quite smart, so I was interested in his thoughts. R, I said, I just cannot decide. What do you think? Red? or Purple?
He looked at me and blinked, and then he started laughing and it was then that I remembered.
He’s colorblind.
Ladies and gentlemen, I turned Fifty Shades of Red…while he enjoyed a good laugh.
After talking it over with The Husband, who voted green, teal or red, the socks are red.

Lol, thank you for always bringing a smile and laughter to my day K! So was the red TH chose color #3 or #4? I’ll be happy to help you decide colors anyday, just don’t hold it against me if it ain’t purty ;) btw – thanks for the smart reference!
um, none of the above. I went back and looked and the original choices I probably gave you were blue, gold, purple, gray, teal….and then I probably mentioned red? If you click on the picture to make it bigger, that sock in the picture is the red I chose.
Red certainly is bold no matter what shade it is. I’m sure that they will turn out exactly the way you want them to. Any yarn choices yet??
I’m to the heel of the first sock so far and I’m using Heritage Silk Cascade yarn (from stash). It feels really nice.
I voted purple but I’m sure the red will look great!!
I swatched in purple and it didn’t look great, so I went a different direction. I totally went with your opinion first. :)
