This pattern with the afterthought heel is just the thing for on the go knitting.
The leafy socks (test knitting): (raveled here)
This pattern is a lot of fun to knit and since I’m using a DK weight by Hazel Knits, it is knitting up quickly. This is my first time to use Artisan Lively and I’m really enjoying the feel of it.

good news: I’ve got the pattern for toe decreases memorized.
bad news: I’ve been ripping out a lot of toes lately. I ripped this one back and added four rows and now I’m considering ripping back again to add a few more. The Mermaids turned up recently when I was organizing the stash – I don’t know what I’m going to do with them. I do not feel like redoing the toes again. I kind of hate them now. Have considered throwing them on stage at a rock concert….but I can’t do that when the toes do not match each other. I know. You know you have OCD when….

I’ve got sock envy. Three pairs? I’m feeling like a slacker.
um, you’ve sewn a dress every time I turn around.
The socks are lovely!
Thanks bunches. I’m totally smitten with the leafy ones!!!
I have a pair of socks whose length I like, and I always use one of them to hold against any sock in progress to make sure I start the toe in the right place. I have a bad habit of wanting the second sock to be finished and starting the toe too early…
YOU. ARE. A. GENIUS!
Beautiful, I love the green.
Thanks. me too!
