My UT star baby blanket won honorable mention at the Texas State Fair this year so, TH and I and family road tripped to Dallas to see it on display. My FIL’s comment was, “it’s orange?”! He and the Mrs. went to tu but all of their kids went to aTm and married Aggies, so he didn’t quite follow why I made a burnt orange afghan. So, I told him the story of how I have a REALLY good friend, the kind you’d not only help hide a body, but you’d let them bury it in your yard and be their alibi…..but, she went to tu, so when I wanted to make her a baby blanket, I decided to overlook the rivalry and make her a longhorn colored blanket. What do you think of the aTm t-shirt with the UT blanket?
Here, you can see it with the rest of the display. Overall, I was very pleased with how it was shown.
Another friend, Sam, entered a blanket for the first time this year. She was my crochet mentor when I started the pinwheel blanket many moons ago. We even went to the P.O. together to mail our entries. I was thrilled for her that she won Honorable Mention.
