1. I didn’t love this movie.
2. The chase scene was so poorly done I started to feel sick.
3. This movie felt like a 2 hour Mercedes commercial. Idea for a drinking game: Watch this movie and drink every time you see a Mercedes logo. (Please drink responsibly and always designate a driver.)
4. This is what I was knitting (K2P2 ribbing for the leg of a sock).
5. The Husband and I saw A Good Day to Die Hard at 2pm Saturday with some friends. Then we got together with them that night and watched Live Free or Die Hard because we were in the mood to watch a good Die Hard movie that day. True Story.

before a fall….or in this case before I spent 3 days trying to figure out what in the heck I was doing because it sure as frack wasn’t reading the chart (you know, from the pattern I thought was pretty easy).
One of my sweet friends suggested that maybe there was an error with the pattern. Sure, an error where the ninth time you read a chart, suddenly, there’s an error? Yea, that’s probably it.
By the time I quit diagnosing, picking up stitches, dropping stitches, picking up different stitches, being unappy with how the lace looked and sucked it up and unknit all the way back (6 rows) to the spot where I lost all reason, several days had passed. This is the point where I told myself that I’m 50% process knitter and unknitting is sort of the same as knitting. I think we all know it’s not.
I was finally able to finish the first sock and am working on the second one….and you can bet your sweet arse I’m paying attention to the chart.

Pattern: Polypodium vulgare Socks (Polypodium vulgare is a fern)
Designer: Hunter Hammersen
Yarn: Malabrigo Sock
Colorway: Violeta Africana (which makes me think of eggplants)

Quality Knitting Time with my Stylist
Hunter sometimes does really neat patterned heels, but I was pleased when I got to the heel of this one that there was no chart. easy peasey. I really like this pattern and the resulting socks. They look complicated, but the pattern is not that hard and the sock fits well.
After this photo was taken, I screwed up the pattern and had to tink back three rows. Evidently, Tierra’s drama on the Bachelor was so distracting that I just dropped a stitch.
