When Cindy, of Gauge Wars, called for testers for her pretty heart cowl, I jumped at the chance.
I thought of my Grammy, grabbed some periwinkle shi bui and took the puppy for a test drive.
The cast on for this is about twice the number needed for my average sock. Yet, I KEPT being surprised by how many stitches were in a round. It became somewhat comical.
This charming cowl went off to Grammy for Christmas and she loved the hearts and the color. and I love her.

So, I’m friends with Bonnie and we exchange Christmas ornaments. Now, she’s quite the knitter, so I wanted to find something special. I ran across these cute sheep ornaments and knew I’d found it. My first take was too small to fit over the plastic ball I wanted to use so I stuffed it, but it just wasn’t quite up to snuff, so I went up to size 2.75mm needles and gave it another shot. Moneyball! (I still ended up stuffing it, but these sheep look more like king and queen sheep and not court jester sheep.* Practice makes perfect.)
Here’s the ornament doing a scene from Gone with the Wind.
Here’s the pattern if you fancy some sheep for your tree.
And look what Bonnie sent. She outdid herself and sent TWO lovely ornaments! This little sock is so perfect I had to ask her if she knit it (even though she mentioned knitting little sock ornaments on her blog – it looks that good).
Aren’t they too much? I LOVE them! Here are the patterns she used:

* No offense to any court jester sheep that may be reading this blog. I’m sure you’re all perfectly lovely.

Hi, my name is Katie and I’m addicted to Plucky Knitter yarn. After joining the Plucky group on ravelry, it turns out I have a less serious problem then some folks, so…. I should get more.
The Husband is my favorite enabler and I got Plucky yarn for our anniversary again this year…just in time for Plucktember, that time of year when Plucky fans strategize and knit knit knit with Plucky yarn. There are competitions and random drawings and a good time is had by all. The idea of Plucktember lining up with a September Hunter Hammersen Polyommatus corydon KAL inspired me to buy some chocolate colored sport-weight yarn and knit up this beauty.
Pattern: by Hunter Hammersen from Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet Volume 2.
Yarn: Chocolate Crinkle Plucky Knitter Primo Sport (75% Wool, 20% Cashmere, 5% Nylon)
Needles: 3.25mm 40′ circs.
Duration: 3 days (it would have been less, but this happened.)
Primo feels great whilst knitting and against my face. Happy Plucktember!
mine raveled here (in case you are into the all lattice version)
