As I mentioned recently, Hunter has a new book available for pre-order (Seriously, go pick it up right now, while the discount is still available. I’ll wait.)
you’re back? ok.
So, on Tuesday, the book page on ravelry looked like this.

Yes, I took a screenshot.
Because the two most popular patterns after the cover pair, were knit by me! My tiny knitter heart was thrilled! especially since some of the other patterns are spellbinding. But I’ve tried to only fall under the spell of the socks. I mean, I live in Texas, what do I need with cowls, hats and mitts, but oh, this one is calling my name.

Metopsilus porcellus Cowl
I’d like to blame the color, but you know I’m picturing it in blue. What the hell. Add to queue.
Last summer, I knit these socks for Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet Volume 2, but couldn’t show pics. Well, you can pre-order the book now and I can share photos!

Smerinthus ocellatus Sock - I LOVE this pattern. I'm already trying to figure out what color my next pair will be.

Polyommatus argiolus Sock - These socks are very tactile and have great lines.
Go order your copy so you can download two of her individual patterns for free and get the 20% discount. You don’t want to be kicking yourself later.

I’m test knitting a pattern for Hunter Hammersen and I love the pattern. It is a quick knit, is not overly complicated and I am enchanted by all the leafy business. In a moment of unoriginality, I chose green yarn.
I neglected to put two and two together and was supposed to be doing one purl rather than two down each side of the foot. The point of test knitting is to find these spots, so that was all good. But, I’m just OCD enough that I wanted to “fix” my sock. I was feeling both adventurous and lucky, so I decided to ride that wave and drop the stitches and then pick them all up as knit 2 togethers, knits, purls, and slip slip knits as they should have been. I was more than a little pleased with myself to turn this

into this

into this!

In other more exciting news, Hunter’s new book is available for pre-order and it is lovely. She has some nice goodies for folks that pre-order now, so pop on over and pick it up.

I knit the Polyommatus argiolus socks and the Smerinthus ocellatus socks, so I can vouch for the patterns being both beautiful and well-written.
