I didn’t have high expectations for this film, and it flew right by them. With a really strong soundtrack (John Waite, Guns N’ Roses, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, the Scorpions, Roy Orbison) and a lovable cast, this movie is destined to be a cult classic. It explores what makes us human while still being light-hearted and funny. I thought Nicholas Hoult did a great job of running like a zombie as R (for Romeo?). Also, he has gorgeous eyes. He’s officially the best-looking zombie…..um, ever? Dave Franco was just enough of a jackass that on the off chance his brain does get eaten, no one will really mind. Rob Corddry was so cute, I wanted to put him in my pocket and Teresa Palmer as Julie was a much more likable damsel in distress than oh, say, Kristen Stewart. I think it was the gun; she didn’t seem all that distressed.
In knitting news, there is a cable sweater prominently worn by Teresa Palmer. I like the 3/4 length sleeves and the cable pattern, but I wasn’t crazy about the neckline or the color.
Nevertheless, I was impressed with how it held its shape while sopping wet and did I mention I like the cable pattern?
